Mobile technology has revolutionized the way we work. As sales and marketing professionals, we constantly use email, social networks, and texting while on the go. But there might be other mobile features that you could be taking better advantage of during your weekly sales routine.
For example, Google Maps.
You already use Google Maps as your GPS to get you from A to B to C throughout the day. Diving a little deeper into the features of the app can make it a powerful and convenient tool for sales.
Start by opening Google Maps on your computer. Click on the menu icon at the upper left-hand corner:
Next, click on Your Places:
Then, under the Maps tab, click on “Create Map” at the bottom:
Here, you can create a map to keep track of sales prospects.
Look up the locations you’re interested in and with one click, you can add them to your map. Categorize them however you like using the dozens of colored pins and icons available on Google. You can even layer the locations so that only certain pins show up on your map at a certain time – for instance, places where you have an existing contact and cold calls.
Before long, you’ll have a whole map of places to drop in on, making it easy to choose the most time-effective route for sales calls. Then, access your map while on the go via the Google Maps app on your smartphone.
